Challenge: DAM system change
Vector Informatik GmbH has been a satisfied DAM United customer since 2018. In 2023, there were various reasons that made it necessary to replace the CELUM digital assets management system previously used. The first was to find a new DAM system with a range of functions that better matched Vector’s requirements and therefore offered better value for money. And the second step was to ensure a smooth system changeover with around 30,000 assets (images, icons and multimedia).
Solution: from CELUM to fylr
Together with the experts from DAM United, various systems were tested and fylr was selected by the program factory as the price-performance winner. fylr is one of the leading DAM systems and is used by numerous DAM United customers. The fylr DAM is hosted GDPR-compliant in DAM United’s particularly secure Kubernetes cluster. Vector benefits from a cloud DAM solution with a full range of functions and short release times. The new fylr user interface offers excellent usability and can be easily customized. For example, the approximately 4,000 employees at Vector can make precise image selections using filter searches and saved searches. These can be stored in folders, provided with additional functions and shared with internal or external users in a precisely defined manner. In just a few clicks, for example, new photos can be filtered out from a solution in high quality, watermarked and made available to specific customers or account managers. This increases work efficiency for all users worldwide.
Migration in one calendar quarter
DAM United analyzed the inventory of digital assets, defined new object types and metadata fields together with the customer and finally carried out a semi-automated migration of the 30,000 assets using our DAMmigrate tool. The DAM administrators were also trained on fylr. The project was completed in a short period of three months and fylr was up and running as the new DAM.
